What should I do if the police ask to search my home or car?

In the absence of a search warrant, you can decline to have police or investigators search you or your property. Politely decline, tell them you want your lawyer present, and call Wolf Criminal Law. Do not say anything more to police or investigators. Exercise your right to remain silent.

If law enforcement already has a search warrant, call us right away. Do not try to prevent investigators from conducting a search if they already have a warrant. We can investigate whether the search was conducted properly and within the scope of the issued warrant. If mistakes were made, it may be possible to have the seized evidence kept out of court.

I already talked to the police. What should I do now?

Don’t say anything else to the police. Contact us immediately.

The prosecutor has a lot of evidence. Should I just plead guilty?

Do not plead guilty before contacting Wolf Criminal Law. Even if the prosecution claims to have a lot of evidence against you, any mistakes on the part of law enforcement or violations of your rights could be used in your favor. Let our skilled criminal defense attorney investigate your case and develop the best possible strategy for protecting your rights and freedom. Our law firm has a long history of getting serious charges reduced or dismissed. We prepare each case as if it will go to trial because that is the best way to strengthen each client’s position, even if the case is ultimately resolved in the pre-trial phase.
