A lineup is a police identification procedure where the police will have a claimed eyewitness view a series of people (as opposed to a photo array, which is a series of photographs) generally including the accused so the witness has an opportunity to identify the accused. It’s extremely common for the prosecutor to use the results of the lineup in court at trial against the accused to secure a conviction.
